Question: Just wondering but how would I go about being more flexible?
I'm a skateboarder and it's starting to wear on my body.
I think it's because I'm not flexible enough.

Answer: Yoga is a form of stretching for the purpose of creating strength and flexibility. Yoga enhances any sport and can prevent injuries. Just in a short time you will feel a big difference in how you are able to perform any sport. I highly suggest stretching your hamstrings and quads when skate boarding.

Question: My goal is to extend my leg straight in the air. Would u recommend yoga or pilates reformer?? I currently work at a gym that teaches both which one will get me the results I want faster??

Answer: I am not sure what pose you are speaking of, however if your interested in doing the split, I highly suggest yoga. Pilates is more for core strengthening, where yoga is for flexibility and strength, especially the hips which enable you to do the split.

Question: I think this site is very professionally done. The video quality is superb. The logo, in particular, is clean and modern. What positions would you recommend to ease the bodily stressors of the menopausal woman? Thanks!

Answer: Restorative would be the best. Gentle inversions that are known for their anti aging are also very beneficial. Meditation to help keep things in perspective. Menopause is the time for you to nurture your self after all the energy that you have put out for others. Time to self-reflect and reconsider your values as you move into a new cycle of you life.

Question: A friend of mine who has just started to practice yoga, has an issue with corpse pose. she starts to cough at the end of each class pretty hard. It happends as we lie on our backs. The last class it happened while we were doing shoulder stand and then she had to leave during relaxation. What can she do to ease this and why do you think this happends? Could It be the heart opening poses? She is in excelent health otherwise. Thank you, Nicole.

Answer: Honestly I cannot answer this question, this is more of a concern for a doctor. It may be from increased circulation and toxins being released into the blood stream. Also lying back can cause fluids to drain back into the throat causing a tickle. Very hard for me to say since I am not a doctor and am not qualified to diagnose.

Question: Which yoga sequence can be followed to relieve knee pain?

Answer: You should never feel pain in any joint during or after a yoga practice. If you are experiencing this from any activity that are creating pain in your knees, shoulders, wrist, neck, ankles or back then I would seek a professional that can help you with correct alignment. In yoga you want to make sure you are stacking your bones, not allowing the joint to bear the weight of your body. If you are experiencing pain in your knee on a regular basis I would go see your doctor.

Question: What is the best Yoga for firm legs?

Answer: The best poses for the legs are the Warrior series, especially Warrior 2. Also all the balance poses are great for creating tone and strength. Most of your standing poses will support leg tone.

Answer: Yoga would be excellent for addressing tight hamstrings. Almost every class addressing the hamstrings because of the importance to having flexibility in order to prevent injuries. Tight hamstrings can create lower back pain and sciatic. The beauty of yoga is that you can began at any age and feel results immediately. If your inflexible you may want to practice 15-30 minutes a day with a focus on your hamstraings.

Answer: There are lots of postures that address the stomach and building core strength. Most of yoga has you using your stomach muscle's in order to create stability in your back muscles. Also it is important to consider what your diet consist of. If you are eating lots of carbs it will put weight on around the middle. So I would say all of yoga could help in building strong stomach muscles, especially with a healthy diet.
